Student Discount – am I eligible?

To be eligible for an 16+ student discount at Brighton Ballet School you must be aged 16 or over, registered with an education establishment and be :

A full-time student registered and studying on a higher education course with a university or college enrolled on a full-time course made up of at least 15 tuition-led and/or structured learning hours a week over at least 14 weeks

Receiving NHS bursary money*, either as a full-time or part-time student,

A full-time postgraduate student (for example, studying or writing up for 15 or more hours a week)

Possess a valid NUS, or student card with at least 6 weeks of your course remaining.

*Proof of such receipt must be provided.

Description

Intermediate Foundation Level Ballet

Start Date : 30th September 2021

Time : 6:00 – 8.00 pm 

Number of weeks in course : 4 weeks remaining

Venue : Dance Studio, BHASVIC Sixth Form College, Old Shoreham Road Hove, BN3 6EG

Level of Experience : Students will have completed a minimum of 4 – 5 years previous relevant experience, or examinations at Grade 5 Ballet from any syllabus.

What to wear: It is essential that the appropriate attire is worn for the class you wish to take. Brighton Ballet School has a strict school uniform which should be adhered to at all times, and is available for purchase through the school shop. Brighton Ballet School Teachers and their representatives reserve the right to refuse entry to any student who is deemed inappropriately dressed for the class they wish to take.

Exam uniform: British Ballet Organisation leotards must be purchased for examinations of Grade 6 and above.

Male Uniform: Grade 1 –8: Black male ballet tights, white fitted ballet t-shirt, white socks, black ballet shoes.

BBO/BBS UNIFORMS MUST BE PURCHASED THROUGH THE SCHOOL SHOP IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING EXAMS IN THE FUTURE.

A class in classical ballet technique, focusing on strength coordination and improving technical ability.  Students will learn a broad range of steps whilst studying both BBO dance’s beautiful syllabus alongside free work exercises. There will be a pointe work component of the class however it is not compulsory for students to be en pointe to attend.

This class is suitable for students who wish to improve their technique in classical ballet. The class is of Intermediate Foundation level and will include both syllabus and free work. The class will contain an element of pointe work however it is not necessary for students to be en pointe to attend. Adults and Teenagers have the option to work towards their exam at this level.

Please familiarise yourself with the latest Covid-19 restrictions that BBS staff will be following before signing up for a class as these will need to be adhered to at all times. In the event of a local or national lockdown classes will either continue to be provided on line or your fees will be held in lieu of reopening at a future date.  No refunds or credits will be offered in these circumstances.  Please refer to our full Terms & Conditions for more information.
