What to Expect
This class will teach students the range of steps, musicality strength and technique required at this level. Learning ballet and tap dance is a fabulous way to improve strength, coordination, stamina and general posture, and also a fun way of exercising!
For students aged between 6 – 8 years old. Previous experience is not essential but recommended. Parents are welcome to accompany their child for their initial 3 week trial, after which they will be asked to wait outside. Each term we hold a watching week for parents, friends and family to come along and see what their children have learned.
Instructors are qualified Dance Teachers, carefully selected for their expertise and experience within the industry and carry full enhanced DBS checks.
Students will gain strength, control, stamina, musicality, performance, presentation, confidence, increased posture and flexibility whilst expanding their technical knowledge of classical ballet and tap dance.
What to Wear
We want your child to feel comfortable therefore we have adopted a non-gender specific uniform giving children and parents choices in what they come along to class in. You can choose from either :
– BBS pink leotard with skirt attached, pink ballet shoes, pink ballet socks or pink ballet tights
– BBS black ballet tights and white leotard, with white or black shoes, and white socks.
– Black Tap Shoes
Optional extras include : ballet wraparound cardigans and leg warmers.
You must purchase this uniform from our school shop where it will be ready and waiting for you and your child upon your arrival.
For your initial trial sessions you do not need to purchase the uniform.
Please tie long hair back in a bun with fringes pinned back. Please use a restraining strap if children need to wear glasses.
THREE WEEK TRIAL SPACES AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS NEW TO THE SCHOOL.
Trials can start at any point during the term and must run for 3 weeks consecutively.
Trial fees must be paid for in full in advance
You do not need to purchase a uniform to take part in a trial space, however you will be required to purchase the school uniform if you wish to continue past your initial trial (which can only be purchased through the school shop)
You may only purchase a trial space once, and only if you are new Brighton Ballet School
