Our Acrobatics class (level 4-6) is designed for students who have some previous experience in either Acrobatics or Gymnastics and wish to learn acrobatic skills in a fun, challenging and supportive environment.  We are the only school in Brighton and Hove registered and qualified in Acrobatic Arts.  This brilliant syllabus enables students to increase their acrobatic skills, flexibility, strength and dance steps in a logical safe way with manageable progressions and opportunities for examinations once a year.  The class will include limbering, strengthening exercises, basic acrobatics such as tumbling, handstands, cartwheels, front and back walk overs, dive rolls, front limber, and dance steps to combine skills into sequences.  It is a great addition to our dance students and we really enjoy teaching this brilliant programme.

Acrobatic Arts & Dance Class (mixed ability) 

For children aged 7+   years old

Starting : Saturday 19th September 2020

Time : 11:30 – 12:30

Venue : BHASVIC Sixth Form College, Dance Studio, Dyke Road/Old Shoreham Road, Hove

 

Weeks in course  : 6 weeks 

 

Level of experience : Acrobatic Arts & Dance – Level 1 – 5. This mixed level class is suitable for students aged 7+ years old. Students are not required to have any previous experience, however some Acro or Gymnastics may be useful. This class will focus on the skills required for all levels in the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus, combining tricks and skills with dance steps. Students will work on strength, stamina, skills such as cartwheel, back handspring, bridge walkovers and handstands in a fun encouraging and safe environment.  Covid-19 restrictions may affect the ability for students to do some tricks.  

For students aged between 7+ years old.  Previous experience not essential.  

What to wear: It is essential that the appropriate attire is worn for the class you wish to take. Brighton Ballet School has a strict school uniform which should be adhered to at all times, and is available for purchase through the school shop. Brighton Ballet School Teachers and their representatives reserve the right to refuse entry to any student who is deemed inappropriately dressed for the class they wish to take.

Acrobatic Arts & Dance Class : Brighton Ballet School T-shirt, and optional Hoodie, leggings or shorts, or leotard (no skirts).  Bare feet please.  Please ensure hair tied neatly away from face, preferably in a bun. We also sell matching headbands to keep fringes out of the way and for shorter hair.

Please familiarise yourself with the latest Covid-19 restrictions that BBS staff will be following before signing up for a class as these will need to be adhered to at all times.
