Ballet Class for Adults  – Level 5 Ballet Class

For : Teenagers & Adults

From : Saturday 22nd May 2021 – this is for a short trial of 3 consecutive weeks

Time : 3:00 – 4:00 pm 

Venue : BHASVIC Sixth Form College, Dance Studio, Dyke Road/Old Shoreham Road, Hove

Weeks in trial : 3

Please ensure you attend 3 consecutive weeks in this trial  

Level of experience : This class is for teenagers and adults who have a minimum of 3 – 4 years previous ballet experience, or completed an examination at Grade 4 level in any Syllabus. This class will follow both British Ballet Organisation Grade 5 Ballet level syllabus work along with free-work, and build on the skills and technique that we have already learned Grade 4 Ballet, teaching a new repertoire of steps, building strength, coordination and musicality in the dancer. 

What to wear: Students should wear either the Brighton Ballet School Adult Uniform or a fitted t-shirt, leggings and socks on their feet.  We encourage all students to move on to wearing the uniform as soon as they feel comfortable to do so as this will really help the student to feel prepared for their class and help them get the most out of their time with us.  The best investment a student can make is ballet shoes.  Please check our shop page for all our dancewear essentials. 

Brighton Ballet School Teachers and their representatives reserve the right to refuse entry to any student who is deemed inappropriately dressed for the class they wish to take.

BBS UNIFORMS MUST BE PURCHASED THROUGH THE SCHOOL SHOP IF STUDENTS WISH TO TAKE EXAMS IN FUTURE AS WE ARE OBLIGATED TO ENSURE ALL ADULT STUDENTS ARE WEARING IDENTICAL ITEMS.

Please ensure you remove jewellery before attending class, and that hair tied neatly away from face in a bun.

Please familiarise yourself with the latest Covid-19 restrictions that BBS staff will be following before signing up for a class as these will need to be adhered to at all times. In the event of a local or national lockdown classes will continue to be provided on line.  No refunds or credits will be offered in these circumstances.  Please refer to our full Terms & Conditions for more information. 

To be eligible for an 16+ student discount at Brighton Ballet School you must be aged 16 or over, registered with an education establishment and be :

• • A full-time student registered and studying on a higher education course with a university or college 
• • Enrolled on a full-time course made up of at least 21 tuition-led and/or structured learning hours a week over at least 14 weeks
• • Receiving NHS bursary money*, either as a full-time or part-time student, 
• • A full-time postgraduate student (for example, studying or writing up for 15 or more hours a week)
• • Possess a valid NUS, or student card with at least 6 weeks of your course remaining.  

*Proof of such receipt must be provided.
