What to expect

Join us this Summer as we welcome Zoe Epstein to Brighton Ballet School to teach our teenage and adult students.  Brighton Ballet School’s intensive courses are a unique opportunity for dancers of all ages to experience the highest levels of teaching by renowned international teachers, giving them the chance to experience the joy of dancing in a safe nurturing environment.

About Zoe Epstein (Dip.DT, DDTAL, RAD(QTS) 
Zoe spent a considerable time training as a young child with Sonya Pettigrew at Brighton Ballet School.  She went on to audition successfully for Elmhurst Ballet School.

Zoe is a graduate from The Royal Ballet School’s Diploma of Dance Teaching. She is a Royal Ballet School Mid and Advanced Associate teacher in London and is part of the Associates Outreach team teaching in Livorno, Italy. She previously supported White Lodge students in The Royal Ballet Company’s performances of The Nutcracker and taught at the Summer Intensive, White Lodge. Zoe also teaches the Central School of Ballet Juniors and their international summer school.

Zoe danced professionally with the Romanian National Ballet from 2012 to 2016 under the directorship of Johan Kobborg, performing in a wide variety of classical ballets such as La Fille mal Gardee by Ashton, MacMillan’s Manon and Theme and Variations by Balanchine.


Ballet Class – Teens & Adults 
This master class is ideal for students who have some a little previous experience.  The workshop includes a 1.15 hour long ballet class that will include barre, centre work and some repertoire.  There will be a pointe work element to the higher level course, however it is not compulsory for students to be en pointe to attend.
Lower Level Workshop
This workshop is ideal for teenage or adult students who have little or no previous experience and want to build on the basics of ballet technique including posture, flexibility, coordination and general well being.
Higher Level Workshop
This workshop is suitable for students of any age who have at least 4 years previous ballet experience.  Class will include bare, centre and repertoire, with pointe work for those already established en pointe.  Please note it is not essential for students to be en pointe to attend.
Children’s Ballet Workshop
This workshop is ideal for children aged 8+ who have at least 1 – 2 years previous experience and want to build on the basics of ballet technique including posture, flexibility, coordination and musicality. 

What to wear
Lower Level Ballet Class :  Black/plain coloured leotard if you have one, Pink Tights, Pink Ballet shoes, or leggings, t-shirt and socks on your feet.   Hair tied back away from face.  Please ensure you remove all jewellery.

Higher level Ballet Class : Black/plain coloured leotard, pink tights, pink flat ballet shoes, demi pointe shoes and/or pointe shoes.  Hair tied back away from face preferably in a bun.  Please ensure you remove all jewellery.
