Tap Dance – Beginners & Improvers Class
For Teenagers and Adults

Time : 3:00 – 4:00 pm
Venue : BHASVIC Sixth Form College, Dance Studio, Dyke Road/Old Shoreham Road, Hove
Weeks in course : 6 weeks
Level of experience : Beginners – Improvers Level Tap Dance. This class is suitable for students aged 8+ years. No previous experience is required. This class will cover the basics of tap dance including basic steps, rhythms and technique required at this level. Parents/guardians are permitted to watch first class, and then encouraged to leave their child thereafter.
What to wear: It is essential that the appropriate attire is worn for the class you wish to take. Brighton Ballet School has a strict school uniform which should be adhered to at all times, and is available for purchase through the school shop. Brighton Ballet School Teachers and their representatives reserve the right to refuse entry to any student who is deemed inappropriately dressed for the class they wish to take.
Children Grade 1 – 3 Tap : Lavender or Navy BBO ballet leotard can be worn for class which CAN ONLY BE PURCHASED THROUGH THE SCHOOL SHOP. For Exams a new tap leotard must be purchased. Pink ballet shoes, pink ballet tights or pink ballet socks. Please ensure hair tied neatly away from face, preferably in a bun. We also sell matching headbands to keep fringes out of the way and for shorter hair.
Adults : leggings and T-shirt with sturdy shoes with a small heel. Tap shoes are preferable and can be ordered at very reasonable prices through the school shop.
BBS UNIFORMS MUST BE PURCHASED THROUGH THE SCHOOL SHOP.
Please familiarise yourself with the latest Covid-19 restrictions that BBS staff will be following before signing up for a class as these will need to be adhered to at all times. In the event of a local or national lockdown classes will continue to be provided on line. No refunds or credits will be offered in these circumstances.
